Myth Makers: Super Kart GP (2003)

My first ever Myth Makers game was kart based fun with plenty of pick ups, speed and unique character special attacks. We went with 8 characters and 4 environments, with each location specific to one or more of the characters. Different Cups, time trials and Grand Prix modes were also on offer and me and the team had to make the game fast! This was our first indi game, we had stopped chasing licences as it cost to create a demo in order to attract a publisher. We used our game engine and took a different approach, make original titles but on a budget. The product had to attract customers on the shelf as we had no money for marketing. This was way back in 2003, a time when PS2 reigned supreme. We were running into an already crowded market, but one I knew well. The plan was in action and it was make or break time for all concerned at Data Design.
