Myth Makers, a world of dreams!
The Myth Makers is a series of games originally released on PlayStation 2 back in 2003 and then on Wii in 2007. I was the lead artist and designer on the project and have produced 100s of individual images during the development of the titles. The series sold millions world wide and is one of my favourites projects from over the past 10 years.
Although not prevalent within the games, the Myth Makers and the world they inhabit is a rich and vivid one, full of secrets and mystery. In my spare time I chose to pursue the concept further by developing the world and how the characters would interact with each other. I did some of this by drawing comic strip action and story sequences but most is written in hand form locked deep within my ideas book.
Most of the artwork created in games development is never seen so I thought I would start a series of posts about the Myth Makers and the concept art and ideas I developed during the 3 years of production.

I actually like the Myth Makers games.
ReplyDeleteThey were pretty budget in terms of the actual games, but thanks for the kind words. I like the concept but the games could have been so much more given proper funding.
DeleteYeah they were pretty budget.
DeleteWill the Myth Makers ever return?
DeleteWhat happened to the Myth Makers website?
ReplyDeleteI tried looking up the Myth Makers website and it lead me to a screen that says under construction.

ReplyDeleteHey peeps!
ReplyDeleteSorry I haven't replied in a while, thanks for the comments.
The website you ask, well that was way back when Data Design still existed as a company making games.
I would imagine the site has been taken down and that's just sitting there to keep the space empty.
As for a comeback, I'm not sure but I won't rule it out.
It would all depend on having the budget and the rights to use them.
I may have created the characters but I don't own them.
That said I would like to make a myth makers game again. I have an rough design for one but it's a secret. ;)
